Nancy Seidman, Board Co-Chair
Energy Efficiency & Electrification, Regulatory Assistance Project

Nancy Seidman is a Senior Advisor with the Regulatory Assistance Project spending time in Boston and Vermont. She hopes to bring insights from energy efficiency and electrification to Green Neighbor Challenge. Nancy assists state and federal regulators in thinking about the links between energy and environmental regulation. She completed a MBA in Public Management and a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering. Nancy can often be found walking in the quiet woods and thinking about how to lower her carbon footprint and make a clean environment a reality for future generations.


Matthew Grimley, Board Co-Chair
Research Fellow, University of Minnesota

Matthew Grimley is a Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with broad experience in policy analysis, energy-centric transitions, and multilevel networks of change. He holds a B.A. in English Literature and Biology, and an M.S. in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy from the University of Minnesota with a focus on energy policy and geographic information systems. A humorous historian and natural anthropologist, Matt is keenly observant, cool under pressure, and brings an extensive knowledge of birds to the team.


Aaron Hanson
Energy Program Specialist, Institute on the Environment

Aaron Hanson is a Program Specialist for Leadership and Education at the Institute on the Environment. He splits his time between teaching, research, and project management. Currently, Aaron is leading an effort to examine potential benefits of solar with strategic vegetative ground cover. Aaron enjoys grappling with interconnected systems, educating others, and working together to solve complex problems. Aaron has experience in construction and real estate, and a Master’s in Science, Technology, & Environmental Policy, with a Minor in Law from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.


Lilly Richard
Digital Communications Manager, Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy

Lilly Richard is the Digital Communications Manager for the Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy, and was previously active on the Green Neighbor Team, supporting a wide-variety of research, communications, and administrative efforts. She holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s in Women’s Studies from Vassar College. She is most interested in issues at the intersection of social and environmental justice. Lilly is excited to support the development of practical digital tools, while advocating for radical systemic change and a reimagining of what our world could look like. Lilly enjoys the outdoors in all its forms, and currently lives in Minneapolis with her cat Cowboy and several dying houseplants.


Frank Jossi
Journalist, Midwest Energy News

Frank Jossi is a journalist with the Energy News Network, mainly covering the transition to clean energy in Minnesota. He also writes about sustainability, real estate and development, and covers stories for local and national publications. Frank received a BA in history and journalism from University of Wisconsin, Madison, and was a Policy Fellow at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. He enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis, biking and hiking in his free time. A loyal Saint Paulite, Frank especially enjoys exploring the Twin Cities area’s beautiful city and regional parks.


Bill Jarrett
Managing Director, TrueNorth Capital Partners

Bill Jarrett is Managing Director at TrueNorth Capital Partners, and will help guide the Green Neighbor Challenge in our capital-raising, financial analysis, and project management. He attended Dartmouth College, Yale School of Management, and University of Minnesota Advanced Careers Initiative (UMAC). Bill is excited about creating awareness around green energy and effecting change to protect the climate. He enjoys biking and seashore vacations with his family.


Sital Sathia
Energy Justice Research Associate, Union of Concerned Scientists

Sital Sathia is an Energy Justice Research Associate for the Climate & Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists where she examines the dimensions of energy policies to advance equity and justice mechanisms advocated by environmental justice communities. She offers critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity and looks forward to building with the team. She currently resides in Chicago, Illinois.


Daniel Card
Assistant Professor, Department of Writing Studies, University of Minnesota

Dan Card is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota, in the Department of Writing Studies. As a rhetorician and technical communicator, he studies the ways people use language to get things done. He’s especially interested in communication and decision-making in the face of complexity and the role technology plays in those processes. As a teacher-scholar, he strives to foster critical engagement with scientific and technical information. The intersection climate action, technical information, and public-facing technology are a big part of what attracted Dan to lend his expertise to the Green Neighbor Challenge. Dan currently lives just outside the Twin Cities, in Minnesota.


Peter Fontana
Innovation Hub Director, The Partnership Project

Peter Fontana is a market research, analytics, and data strategy specialist with experience across non-profit marketing, for-profit advertising, electoral work, and renewable energy. As Director of the Innovation Hub at the Partnership Project he serves in a consultative and coordination role for data strategy across the environmental community. Together they foster data collaboration and insights-led solutions to innovate on common challenges. He currently resides in the Lower Hudson Valley in New York.
